Swimming at Lac aux Dames

Just outside the village, on the edge of the forest, come and take a refreshing dip in the Lac aux Dames in Samoëns.

In summer, swimming is permitted in the larger of the two lakes at the leisure centre. The wide, gently sloping banks make it very easy to get into the water, with Mount Criou and the surrounding peaks as a backdrop.

During the summer school holidays, a supervised swimming area is open every day.

Swimming shorts (and tight-fitting shorts) and flip-flops are forbidden.

From the Samoëns tourist office, walk down to the parking lot below the skating rink to take the impasse des drugères. At the end of this, take the footpath to the right of the MMV Residence. At the end of the path, take the crosswalk. The path is suitable for PRMs.

Access by shuttle bus in summer and winter, more information from the Samoëns tourist office, accessible for wheelchair users.
