Both a place of rest and relaxation, sports activities are also available, allowing everyone to share a good time with family or friends. Just a stone’s throw from the Haut-Giffre mountains, this unique place, far from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, is the perfect place for a beautiful afternoon or even a beautiful summer day.

The Samoëns leisure centre is the perfect place to spend a day with family and friends, away from the noise of cars and everyday life. Isolated from the town centre and easily accessible on foot or by car, it offers a large play area for children, as well as football and basketball pitches for everyone. When the weather is fine, swimming is permitted in one of the two lakes, and there are plenty of water-based activities available within a stone’s throw of the leisure centre (rafting, canyoning, etc.), including tennis and beach tennis, sailing lessons, water-based golf practice, outdoor swimming pool, pony and horse riding, pétanque and, for the more adventurous, paragliding from its landing base just a stone’s throw from the lakes.
When the weather is fine, you can swim in one of the two lakes, and there are plenty of water-based activities just a stone’s throw away (rafting, canyoning, etc.).

The Lac aux Dames leisure park is built around its two lakes. This 10-hectare park, located near the centre of Samoëns, is the ideal place to go for a walk, fish, go stand-up paddling, swim or simply have a lunch break on the picnic after a busy morning. Take advantage of this moment of relaxation and let yourself be carried away by the serenity, the quietude and the beauty of the place. In front of you, you can contemplate the ski resort of Samoëns, very popular with paragliders in the summer, and the mountains of the Haut-Giffre valley which surround you. To quench your thirst, the bar-restaurant area of the Bois aux Dames seems to be the perfect place.

Nestled in one of the most beautiful valleys in Haute-Savoie, at the foot of the Haut-Giffre massif, the village of Samoëns and the Ladies’ Lakes leisure centre promise an idyllic setting with breathtaking views. The geographical situation of the lakes allows you to park easily to go on holiday. walk to the Lac Bleu in Morillon or Verchaix, or a day hike before returning to the valley floor and the coolness of the lakes. Some trail routes such as the 18km and that of 30km will take you directly to the leisure centre for the last few kilometres. In addition, the Grand-Massif gondolas remain open in summer to reach the Samoëns 1600 resort and join the wide hiking trails adapted to all ages.

For mountain bikers, the area of the Lacs aux Dames is the starting point for trails that run through the entire Giffre valley, following the river of the same name, such as the route “Des lacs aux Dames au lac Bleu” for example. Accessible to both novices and the more experienced, the routes allow you to follow the trails of the region as you wish.

Frequently asked questions

How to get to the leisure centre?
You can easily walk to the Ladies’ Lakes Leisure Centre from the village of Samoens along the Giffre River. The road (with wide pavements) takes you on a wide and flat path, accessible to all and to all ages. From the village centre it is a 1.5km walk to the lakes. By car, you can park in the large free car parks near the leisure centre.

Is it possible to swim in the lakes?
In summer, swimming is allowed on one of the two lakes of the leisure centre. The wide, smooth shoreline makes it easy to get into the water, with the Criou mountain and the surrounding peaks as a backdrop. During the summer school holidays, a supervised swimming area opens every day.
Is fishing allowed in the lakes and the Giffre?
There are many fishing areas in the valley during the national season. The first lake at the leisure centre is reserved for fishing, while the second is for water sports. Whether you practice sport fishing with toc, minnow, lures, natural baits or fly fishing: ask at the Samoëns tourist office, which distributes the different types of permits. Between the Giffre, the high altitude lakes and the inter-communal lakes, you are bound to find something to practice your passion in the region.
