For three days, the village celebrates the launch of the summer season with Baroudeurs des Alpes, a festive event dedicated to cycling and conviviality.
In addition to the competitions, there’s entertainment for all the family: games for young and old, creative workshops, sporting activities open to all, and food and drink outlets to share a good time.
Baroudeurs des Alpes is the ideal opportunity to get together, have fun and start the summer in a warm and dynamic atmosphere.
Participants will climb the hiking trails of Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. This friendly trail competition is aimed at the most experienced sportsmen and women, as well as walking enthusiasts and families who want to discover the splendours of the mountains up close.
Over the course of a weekend, the village of Samoëns welcomes the curious and enthusiasts of American culture for three days of festivities. Set against the backdrop of the Haut-Giffre mountains, visitors can enjoy an atmosphere worthy of the finest Hollywood westerns. On the programme: line dancing, country music and equestrian demonstrations.
The Samoëns & Montagnes du Giffre Lyric Festival
For a fortnight, Samoëns and the Giffre Valley come together to the rhythm of opera. Singers, artists and orchestras come together to unite their voices and instruments in concerts, masterclasses and events. This festival, created by and for lovers of lyrical music, is the ideal place to share your passion for this highly poetic art form.
Adopte 1 Col! Crossing the Col de Joux Plane by bike
For one day, the road over the legendary Alpine pass, the Col de Joux Plane, will be closed to traffic, to the delight of cyclists, hikers, skateboarders, skaters: all fans of soft mobility. A refreshment area awaits the bravest climbers at the summit, where they can recharge their batteries and admire the breathtaking views of the mountains.
In Samoëns, mountain guides are an integral part of local life. Indispensable for discovering the riches of the Haut-Giffre mountains in complete safety, the guides are being honoured for one day. At the end of the morning, they will parade through the streets of the village to traditional music. In the afternoon, they will be presenting all the alpine disciplines available in Samoëns and the surrounding area.
The Criou KMV is one of the steepest races in France. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself and set off against the clock towards the summit of Le Criou. With a total distance of 2,059 km and a positive altitude difference of 1,000 m, this climb is organised by Samoëns Trail Évènement. The most courageous and enduring will take up the challenge without a moment’s hesitation.
The Run & Fun du Giffre is a unique experience for all runners! Festive atmosphere, lively music and entertainment along the way. Come and discover the magnificent trails of the Fil du Giffre while having fun!
