Please be aware that livestock guardian dogs, also known as patous, may still be present in some hiking areas, even at the beginning of autumn.
These dogs are increasingly used in the Alpine pastures to protect flocks of sheep or goats.
Visit Map Patou to locate the guarded zones and learn how to behave appropriately around these protective dogs.
Please also note that the hunting season runs from mid-September to mid-January, and may affect areas close to hiking trails.
You can check the days and times of authorised hunting on the Haute-Savoie Hunting Federation website or via the Chasseco app.

The departmental fishing permit, valid for a day, a week or a year, and on sale at the Tourist Office or on cartedepeche.fr, gives you access to:
