From 15/06 to 30/09.
This path overlooks the Sales mountain stream. It is dotted with lots of waterfalls...bearing names such as La Pleureuse, La Sauffaz, Sale, Tarnant.
Leave the Anterne mountain pasture and head for the small Col d'Anterne (2038 m). Leave the GR 5 on your left and head for the Fonts chalets at the entrance to the cirque of the same name, surrounded by impressive cliffs. Continue on via La Celière and Le Pelly de Serai. Take the GR©5 towards the Cascade de la Pleureuse (take time out to cool off and take a photo!), pass by the Cascades de la Saufaz and de Sales. Continue along this valley to the refuge de Sales (1877 m).
1) From the Refuge d'Anterne, head for the Refuge des Fonts. You'll pass the Petit Col d'Anterne and the Pont des Mitaines.
2) Once you've reached the Refuge des Fonts, descend to the Fardelay parking lot via La Célière.
3) Once you've reached the parking lot, head up the valley towards the Refuge de Sales, your destination for the day. You'll come across the Cascades de la Pleureuse and de la Sauffaz.
4) Once you've reached the Chapelle de Sales, the Refuge de Sales is only a few hundred meters away.
