In areas designated by the prefects, vehicles must :

carry metal snow chains or snow socks in their boot to equip at least two drive wheels;
or be fitted with 4 winter tyres on at least 2 wheels on each axle.
There is no regulatory definition of 4-season tyres (4S, All Weather, All Season): to be considered as winter tyres, they must be stamped “3PMSF”, or at least “M+S”.

This obligation does not apply to vehicles fitted with studded tyres.

To get to the slopes of the Grand Massif and the Haut-Giffre Nordic Domain (Col de Joux Plane and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval), skiers and walkers can take the free winter skibus shuttles.

To relieve the Grand Massif Express gondola, we recommend that experienced skiers use the new Vercland gondola (10 seats) to reach the ski area.

Beginners or ski lessons can access the ski area by the Grand Massif Express gondola.
