Cyclists, this challenge is for you! Two departures: Samoëns and Morzine to reach the famous Joux Plane pass in a privileged way, the road being reserved for cyclists. A friendly refreshment station awaits you at the top.
Make the most of this legendary hors catégorie pass, crossed many times by the Tour de France and the Critérium du Dauphiné!
- From Samoëns, an 11.65km climb at an average gradient of 8.5% on the south side.
- From Morzine, a 10.7km climb at an average gradient of 6.6% on the north side.
Once you arrive at the Lac de Joux plane, the view of the Giffre valley and the Mont Blanc range from this unspoilt mountain setting is breathtaking.
What's so interesting about the day? The road is closed to motor traffic from 8am to 11.30am by order of the prefect and reserved for cyclists! A perfect opportunity to enjoy this iconic pass and its breathtaking scenery.
Refreshments will be provided at the summit! It's a friendly, stress-free experience where everyone goes at their own pace.
Road closed at Mévoutier (junction with route de Chantemerle) by order of the prefect, except for residents, farmers and emergency services.
