A classical music concert featuring 4 professional soloists, 120 choristers and 40 musicians, all conducted by Lionel Chapuis in Mozart's moving Requien.
Mozart's Requiem was commissioned and written in 1791, the year of the composer's death. With the score two-thirds complete, Mozart's widow asked Eybler and Süßmayr, two of Mozart's pupils, to complete the work and fulfil the obligations of the commission. Requiem is one of the most moving works in Mozart's catalogue of sacred works, and in the whole of Western music. Rarely have human genius and divine mystery infused music with such emotional power.
