Ski domains
Samoëns is a ski station & village, linked to a big alpine ski domain : Le Grand Massif. You can access the slopes in 8 minutes from the village with the cable car (Le Grand Massif Express).
There are also two nordic ski domains in Samoëns :
- The nordic skiing domain of the Giffre Valley, from Morillon to Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.
- The nordic skiing domain of the col de Joux Plane.
Le Grand Massif
265 km of pistes and 5 interlinked resorts (Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Flaine). For a long time, they were used as a training ground by Antoine Deneriaz, the gold medal winner in the downhill event at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
